The Greenwich Village neighborhood of New York City has gone from its former offbeat surroundings to one of the most desired pieces of real estate in the city. Famous stars like Bradley Cooper realize the amazing pocket of community that has developed in the heart of The Village and recently became one of the newest celebrity residents there.

According to an item in New York Curbed, the actor quietly purchased an elegant red-brick townhouse (4,000 square feet) last May on West 10th Street at the posh price tag of $13.5 million. The listing never went public, and the property was registered under “The Cool Trust” by a Los Angeles-based business management firm that caters to people in the entertainment industry. Justin S. Parks of ScottParks International Realty brokered the deal.

The West Village townhouse is a stunner featuring six bedrooms, four and a half bathrooms, a wine cellar that can accommodate 1,000 bottles, wide plank barn wood flooring throughout the home and a private garden at the rear of the property sitting on an additional 1,100 square feet of outdoor space.

New York Business Journal reports that Cooper would have been a neighbor of The Rolling Stones’ Keith Richards, but the musician at long last sold his nearby terraced duplex penthouse for $9 million. Richards’ 2,700 square foot, three to four bedroom, four bathroom property was more than two years on and off the market with a price that started at $12.23 million.

Other famous West Village residents include Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez, Jessica Lange, Blythe Danner and movie directors Brian De Palma and Tim Burton.

Prior to the move, Bradley Cooper was living with his model girlfriend Irina Shayk and their baby daughter, Lea De Seine, at Shayk’s apartment on Perry St. in the same West Village neighborhood.

The actor made his directorial debut in “A Star Is Born,” released to theaters on October 5. The movie marks the fourth remake of the original 1937 film and stars Cooper and Lady Gaga in the iconic musical romantic drama.

The buzz is growing that Bradley Cooper’s “A Star Is Born” (2018) is an across-the-board Oscar contender.

The film’s soundtrack has also hit the top of the charts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
